Grup Ramonet is a family-run restaurant company, currently comprising Can Ramonet, El Nou Ramonet, La Fresca, and La Vinoteca, three restaurants and a wine cellar with a deeply intertwined history with the neighborhood of Barceloneta and its traditional Catalan maritime cuisine. Our story began over 60 years ago from a small 18th-century wine cellar located in the heart of the Barceloneta neighborhood: Can Ramonet. With its scent of wine and sea, it is one of those lifelong places, full of contagious joy where the light never goes out.
Over time, we have grown, and now, very close by, next to the port of Barcelona, El Nou Ramonet opens its doors every day. Can Ramonet and El Nou Ramonet are the best version of that small wine cellar. Today, after three generations, Grup Ramonet is the result of the good work of the Francès-Ballarín family, faithful to the close-knit character and lovers of the flavors of homemade cuisine, quality ingredients, and local products.
Fruits and vegetables from the land, meats from Girona livestock, Joselito Iberian ham, Cantabrian anchovies arriving in brine, wild fish brought daily by the fishermen of Barceloneta, prawns from Palamós, cod from Iceland, and Bomba rice from the Ebro Delta that allows us to make one of the best paellas in Barcelona. Nowadays, we continue moving forward among pots and pans, paellas, barrels, and wine, working together, carefully selecting the raw materials and cooking at home, surrounded by the joy of the fourth generation that daily lives the long history we transmit.
